Week 12.2 Overall I think we worked well together as a pair and really liked how our project turned out.  I liked how we were able to split the tasks in half and still communicate the same ideas and what we wanted to show. I really like working with my partner, she was understanding and we were both able to agree on same ideas. I loved her design ideas and collage theme to the project. Something that we could have done differently is do a bit more idea generating and exploring instead of just using the idea that we liked. But was very happy with the final designs and how we worked together as a team. Week 12.1 For our last class we were just doing final touch ups on the poster, the flyer, the website and also the website designs for the mobile phone layout.

Week 11.2 Today we didn't have a lecture we just went straight to class and worked in our groups to keep developing ideas. We started finalizing the design of the website to start getting ready to put it into the invision app.  For homework my partner is going to work on the final design of the flyer and I am going to start putting the web deigns into invision and make it interactive.

Week 11.1 In todays class we had our last interim presentation. We did a group work task where we had to group up with another group and each group would critiques each others work. we each filled out a sheet of things that worked well and things that could help make the designs better. This was really useful because there were a new set of eyes helping us out and showing what worked and bought across the point and also gave us some different insight on what could help the designs. We decided to make a flyer for our event and would make it A6 size so it could be put into peoples mailboxes. We decided to change our heading/logo on our poster to make it look better and more relatable to our event. For homework we need to just keep refining our work and carry on with website developments.

Week 10.2 Today in class we were just carrying on doing developments of our work and starting to make final decisions on our designs for the poster. We decided for our website to make it a one-page single scroll down instead of linking multiple pages. We thought this would work better with our design theme. We would use aspects from the poster and flyer and integrate it into the website to link all the components together. For homework, we need to prepare for our last interim presentation, next class. So we need to have our final kind of ideas for the poster, the flyer and have a mock-up of our website.

Week 10.1 In the lecture today our tutors went through web design and InVision resources with us. They showed us some exemplars of previous web designs for this project. They also showed us how to use the InVision app, which we will use to create our website with. In class today we carried on doing iterations on our poster, flyer and also the website design. We got some feedback on our poster and it wasn't clear enough to what the event was, so came up with a tagline that would make the event more understandable. We started coming up with more ideas for the flyer and came up with some design ideas.  For homework we need to have some solid ideas and designs down for with our website and have wireframes mocked up and starting to put into InVision.

Week 9.2 In class today we looked at the narrative of our poster and how it relates to different types of media. We looked at what emotions we felt whilst looking and at and what we wanted our target audience to feel. We also looked at how that event will pan out by using an in-class activity to show the process of how the event will work before, during and after. Continued on with our website development and how it fits in with the poster. We started to touch on what we wanted to have as our take away item as well.  For homework we were just further exploring and developing our ideas.

Week 9.1 In class, we had our interim presentation which was really good for feedback as our ideas weren’t very strong at the time. We received many helpful ideas on how we can improve them. We ended up presenting 3 designs just to see which one people liked the best and which one to pursue. Everyone liked the dog head one better than the others so we have decided to follow that path but change it slightly.  Out of class we combined these two concepts to make one that is even better and is more aesthetically pleasing. We also started to look at the website and generate ideas on how we want that to be laid out.

Week 8.2 In class, we critiqued our concepts that we had come up with and tried to narrow it down to one good idea. We tried to generate a catchy slogan for our poster and how we were going to draw people in. We looked at different typography and how that can make the composition stronger.  For homework, we chose our best design so far and tried to work it up for the first interim presentation on Monday.

Week 8.1 In class today we sat down with our tutors and went through idea generation process with random words, this was very helpful as it gave us lots of tangibles to think about and explore different elements in our designs. After this, we started to come up with some ideas on what we could get ur poster to look like, we decided that we would focus on creating our poster first as the flyer and website will look pretty similar to what our poster will. whilst generating thumbnails we came up with a really good idea of replacing human heads with dog head which will tie in with our pet meet up idea. Out of class, we generated ideas based around dogs and a rhetoric approach using them.

Week 7.2 In the lecture today we looked at taking different rhetoric approaches to our work. We looked at some of the last year examples and how they worked well. In class, we showed and reviewed each other’s conceptual ideas we had come up with for homework. The feedback we got was really good and helped us narrow down what we want to create our event to be. We decided that we wanted to do ours in a Kelburn neighbourhood and focus it more towards families with small children, Isla also liked the idea of making it into a pet meet up because who doesn’t love animals? Also having the idea of a pet meet up can give us lots of opportunities to create good rhetorical designs. We also created a project plan for what sort of things we want to have in our designs. For homework, we started to generate more ideas for design and created a mood board.

Week 7.1 In the lecture today we looked at what our new project will be and what different subject options that we have. In class, we got into groups of 4 and did a character analysis exercise in order to help us narrow down which sort of designs we need to make for specific people. We decided to do ours on Ned Flanders from the Simpsons. following on from this we generated two poster concepts that will draw in our character to a neighbourhood meet up. This class we also chose our partners that we will be doing our project with. For homework, we both went away and tried to come up with ideas for who we want our target audience to be, researched it and created designs for what we came up with. We also continued to generate different ideas for different Simpsons characters to keep the idea generation flowing.
